The Hagstone Pearl earrings by Opal Margate are hand made in the heart of Margate.
Made from 925 silver and cream toned fresh water pearls, these earrings are inspired by old folk tales about hagstones, or sometimes called witches stones.
If you’ve ever stumbled across a pebble with a hole all the way through, congratulations, you’ve found a hagstone! They were once believed to hold magical properties, thought to ward off evil spirits and enhance intuition. Some believe that looking through the hole in a hagstone can help you see a witch or fairy.
